10 items or . . . what?

Some pain in the ass grammarian finds out that the Whole Foods in Pinecrest has a usage problem. "Reserve less for amounts or mass nouns--forexample less salt, dirt, water. Reserve fewer for countable things[[for esample fewer people, calories, suggestions." Or items. (Chicago Manual of Style)

I want to get that grammarian
in line in behind me..
and pay for my penne pasta with dimes,
I will count them each out loud..like Roman Numerals..
then do the multiplying and act all smug
till I realize I have too much Penne for such a plan..and
not enough cents..
A pepper each one sweet one green
diced up with pork and Pullet..all shoved daintily the length of a skewer..
Just remember asshole...10 items or fewer.
